Casa Vogue magazine invited Paulo Mendel to make a documentary short film about an isolated community that survived by creating crafts in “Sertão”, the semi arid backlands of Brazil’s northeast. A place with no potable water and rated with one of the lowest HDI in Brazil.
The film also shows design pieces being manufactured by the community for very important designers, as Marcelo Rosembaum and Aurel Aubi, founder of the architecture and design studio Atelier Oï based in Switzerland.
