 When exhibited in a museum or gallery, the often unnoticed inner spaces of packages designed for ease of handling are transformed, by being blown up, into strange captivating landscapes, often taking up the space of a whole wall.   By upsetting the expected hierarchy of scales between these objects and the surfaces occupied by their images in this series, Lucia Koch momentarily disassociates the photographs from their immediate references, transforming them into something akin to views of invented places. (…)    Nevertheless, the most important aspect of this photographic series for the development of the artist’s work is the fact that, in some of the photographed boxes, the needed luminosity enters through gaps and holes that imitate cobogós, latticework and other architectural elements that filter the outside light and project cast shadows inside rooms.   Excerpt from the article “Set Practice” by Moacir dos Anjos.
